The college was founded in 1984 by Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti with a mission to provide high quality Engineering Education in Central India. The Samiti has been engaged in various social activities since 1967. All the trustees of the Samiti are eminent persons in their own fields. The missionary zeal of teachers and the management soon made the institute the most sought after private Engineering College in Central India – a pre-eminent status it enjoys even today. Over the years, RKNEC has been growing from strength to strength facilitated by the addition of new, frontier branches of engineering, thoughtful expansion of the campus, increase in the teaching faculty, timely enhancement and enrichment of the faculty and addition of newer instruments / equipment and facilities to the departments of the institution
